What You'll Do/Need (Job Summary): The main duty of the Master Welder is to perform various fitting and welding activities using engineering drawings. The Master Welder will also maintain welding certifications and perform work to acceptable criteria.
Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Responsibilities)
- Reads and understands shop drawings and weld symbols.
- Assembles and fits fabrications following a predetermined process.
- Exercise technical independence in determining repair methods and procedures of customer materials. Preparation of proper paperwork.
- Maintains certification to A.W.S D.1.1 3G 1†plate vertical up weld.
- Uses various fabrication equipment, such as hand torches and portable plasma units.
- Operates overhead cranes, tow motors and other material handling the equipment.
- Performs minor maintenance on welding equipment.
- Produces quality products in a timely manner according to the standards set.
- Maintains good housekeeping practices, works in a safe manner and wears PPE.
- Dissembles fabrications as needed to remove worn items to be replaced.
- Logs into and out of the operating system to accurately record the job process and completion.
- Performs other duties as directed by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, skills, and abilities required)
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Exhibits the ability to set the course to fabricate jobs in an efficient manner without rework
- 3G certification is required
- Solid math skills to interpret and understand shop drawings.
- Understanding of materials and welding processes.
- Manual Dexterity is required for stooping, bending and twisting.
- 2-3 years of welding experience in a fabrication facility

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday thru Friday 7:00 am – 3:00 pm or 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm depending on assigned shift.
